One workflow. A defensible production decision.
Stoa Labs works with engineering and AI leaders who already have a real agentic workflow and need to decide whether it is ready for production. The system may be stalled in pilot, failing inconsistently, missing outcome-level evaluation, or carrying more authority than its controls and recovery paths can support.
We begin with one workflow. We do not begin with a broad AI strategy program or a multi-workflow transformation.

Agent Production Boundary Audit
A fixed-scope diagnostic for one planned, active, or stalled agentic workflow. For that workflow, we determine where model judgment belongs, what each capability may do, which limits software must enforce, what evidence establishes success, and how failure will be contained.
The audit maps what each capability may do, establishes the evaluation baseline, and identifies control and recovery gaps. Its findings are recorded in the working artifacts of Boundary Engineering: a System Boundary Map, Boundary Profiles for the material capabilities, and a Capability Ledger.
It ends with a clear recommendation: recover, re-scope, automate deterministically, require approval, proceed within bounds, defer, or retire.

After an audit
Boundary Remediation & Pilot Rescue
When the evidence supports continued work, we remediate the same workflow: we implement the controls, evaluation system, and recovery paths needed to support the audit's decision.
This is bounded work, not an open-ended production build. The engagement ends with the workflow at the boundary its evidence supports, documented and owned by your team.

Production Assurance & Advisory
Models, prompts, tools, and operating conditions keep changing after a system ships, and every change can move a boundary. For systems we have audited or helped remediate, we keep the production boundary current as the system changes.
No change silently expands authority.
The method
Every engagement applies Boundary Engineering, the capability-level method Stoa Labs is developing for deciding where autonomy belongs.
How the method worksStart with the audit.
Stoa Labs is pre-launch. The audit opens the practice: if you have an agentic workflow approaching production, we would like to hear about it. Tell us about the workflow and where it stands.
